John Leonard Kolodziejski, 93 years old, of New Castle, PA, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025 at the VA in Butler, PA.
John was born on July 26, 1932 in New Castle. He was the son of the late John and Julia Kolodziejski. He was married to his beloved wife, Joan, for 66 years, who passed away on February 25, 2022. He was preceded in death by his sisters Helen Spincic, Sophie Kolakowski, Stella Davis, Jenny Kolodziejski, Bertha Belzyt and Frances Boak.
He is survived by his 3 children Julie (Darrell) Jaskolka of Warren, PA, Jean (Ronald) Latawiec of Anderson, SC and John (Dianne) Kolodziejski of Transfer, PA and his eight grandchildren, Joanna, Michael, Matthew, Jennifer, Amber, Alyssa, Sara and Krysta, and a great-grandchild, Florence. He was employed by Rockwell International and Bessemer Cement Company. He was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Catholic church, Polish Falcons Club, Casimir Pulaski Club, Bessemer Croatian Club, White Eagles Club, and Polish National Alliance. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. John loved turkey and deer hunting, trout fishing, and spending time at his camp with family and friends.
Visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites at noon on Thursday.
A Blessing Service will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday following the Honor Guard. Deacon John Carran from Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will take place at S.S. Philip & James cemetery.
