John J. Kusnierczyk, 90, of North Beaver Township (Mt. Jackson) passed from this life on October 3, 2023 at 3:06 a.m.
He was born March 16, 1933 to the late John and Frances (Kwolek) Kusnierczyk on their farm. John was married to the late Gladys (Martin) Kusnierczyk. She preceded him in death on December 19, 1998; they were married for 44 years. Mr. Kusnierczyk was of the Roman Catholic faith and a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Mary, Mother of Hope site. John was a graduate of Mount Jackson High School, class of 1951.
Mr. Kusnierczyk retired after more than 40 years as a self-employed dairy farmer in North Beaver Township; he drove school bus for 23 years for the Mohawk School system. He served as a Lawrence County Fair Director for 50 years and volunteered many hours during his tenure there. He also served on the New Castle Airport Authority for four years where he was a member of the Farmers and New Castle Flying Club. He was honored by the Pomona Grange and the 4H for promoting youth projects in the county. His hobbies included flying, dancing, hunting, traveling, and of course his family.
John is survived by his four children, Rita A. (Kenneth) Aber of Delmont, PA, John R. Kusnierczyk of Henryville, IN, Janis Lilley of New Castle, VA, and David L. Kusnierczyk of Edinburg, PA; eight grandchildren, Rebekah (Drake) Cooper, John B. Kusnierczyk, Kristie Kusnierczyk, Travis ( Nicole) Lilley, Kristin Lilley and David L. (Christina) Kusnierczyk II, Matthew Kusnierczyk, and Kevin Kusnierczyk; and five great-grandchildren, Lincoln Cooper, Troy Bucceri, Zachary Lewis, Alauria Juart, and Tori Readdick. He is also survived by his long-time friend Eleanor Boyles and her children, Jeff and June Boyles.
In addition to his parents and wife Gladys, John was preceded in death by two infant sisters; three other sisters, Jane Akstulewicz, and Helen Wolanin, and Leona Logan.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 10 am for Holy Spirit Parish-Mary Mother of Hope site, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Aaron Kriss Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Rite of Committal and burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
