John R. Pruchnic

 John R. Pruchnic, 63 of New Castle passed away the afternoon of September 19, 2024.

John was born April 11, 1961 in New Castle. He was the son of Stanley J. and Mary Lou (Rillo) Pruchnic. They survive at home. John was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, and a graduate of New Castle high school, class of 1979. Although John faced challenges, he fully embraced the talents God gave him.

John was successful in the way that he lived his life. He lived a life of service through his many years of work at Kmart, helping his elderly neighbors, serving mass and as a reader at Monday night liturgies at Saint Joseph, the worker church. He loved music and sang in the church choir for many years, played the trombone and the piano. He was a former member of the Lawrence County community band.  John loved the outdoors, exercising, riding bikes and going for walks with his sister Anne. He will be remembered as a man of strong faith, a kind and generous soul who would help anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by his four brothers, Stanley J. (Sandy), David, Anthony, and Paul, and three sisters, Deborah A.(John) Thomas, Mary Grace, and Anne Marie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Celestino and Mary Rillo; Paternal grandparents, Stanley H. and Grace E Pruchnic; and his brother, William Pruchnic.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 6 to 8 PM at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle, PA. 16101.

The family requests all to meet on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 10 AM at Holy Spirit Parish, Saint Vitus site, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. The Reverend John Gizler, Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Vitus cemetery.
