Johnny Robert Goodman, 75, of 78 Mitchell Road, West Middlesex, PA passed away the evening of May 19, 2026 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
John was born on November 14, 1950 in Richman, CA to the late Joseph and Bertha (Lassiter) Goodman. John is married to the former Linda F. Stoner, she survives at home. They were married for 54 years.
John retired as the bridge crew leader from the Mercer County Bridge Department after many years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, going fishing with his grandchildren and hunting with his family and friends. He also had a woodworking shop at the house and enjoyed making things for the family.
John served his country as a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He enlisted on December 9, 1969 in Oakland, CA. Johnny earned the rank SGT on January 1, 1972. He received the following medals, NDSM, SA EMR, AFGGM, and AFM 900-3. John was Honorably Discharged on December 8, 1975 at Travis AFB, CA.
In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by his four children; Belinda A. (Shaun) Adams of Sharpsville, PA, Rebecca L. (Nick) Lambert of Niles OH, Ronald W. (Karen) Goodman of Sharon, PA, and Paula M. Goodman of West Middlesex, PA; two sisters, Jolene (Ron) Medina of Santa Maria, CA, and Kathy Jackson of New Port, AR; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle, PA. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Honors for John at the end of visitation.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home immediately following the New Castle Area Honor Guard Service. Pastor James Ishler of the New Wilmington Alliance Church will officiate the service. Burial will take place at a later date.
