Joseph Beshero Obituary

Joseph M. Beshero, 92 of the Jameson Care Center facility passed away the afternoon of November 2, 2020 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Joseph was born March 15, 1928 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Charles and Anna (Bishara) Beshero. Joseph was married to the late Gloria A. Gabriel. She preceded him in death on September 16, 1996. Mr. Beshero was a member of St. John the Baptist Maronite Church. Joseph was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1946.

Following graduation, Mr. Beshero enlisted the United States Army, serving from December 15, 1950 until his Honorable Discharge in July 20, 1956. He held the rank of Private First Class. Joseph retired after 30 years of service as a Foreman at the New Castle Sanitation Department. Mr. Beshero was an avid Notre Dame fan and a proud grandfather. He was famous for his lamb on the rod that he happily cooked for all.  Many referred to him as “Papa Joe or Tic-Tic.” 

Mr. Beshero is survived by his two children, John J. (Lisa) Beshero and Maureen D. (Jon) Ambrosia, both of New Castle; and five grandchildren; John (Kiana) Beshero, Breanna Beshero, Lindsay Beshero, Sydney Ambrosia and Noah Ambrosia.

In addition to his parents and wife, Joseph was preceded in death by three brothers, James, George, and Peter Beshero; and seven sisters, Saide Bishara, Nancy Coury, Rose Thomas, Jennie Ayoob, Elizabeth Hadkiss, Emma Beshero, and Mary Omer.

Private visitation will be held for immediate family from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Maronite Church on Friday, November 6, 2020.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Maronite Church. The Rev. Hanna Karam of St John’s will officiate.  The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct a Military Service at St. Vitus Cemetery prior to the committal service.  Arrangements were entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle.
