Karen D. (Kelly) Harvey

Karen “Dodo” D. Harvey, 67, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of November 12, 2021 at Sharon Regional Hospital.

Karen was born June 22, 1954 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Donald E. and Mabel L. (Huffman) Kelly. She was married to David Harvey, he survives at home. They were married for 48 years. Mrs. Harvey was of the Protestant faith. Karen was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1972.

Mrs. Harvey retired after 34 years of service with the Shenango High School District as a Bus Driver. Karen was a member of the Mahoning Valley Grange and Take it easy Camping Club. She was the Pomona Family Activities Director, enjoyed camping with her family in Cooks Forest. Karen had a special love for all of her cats. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband David, Karen is survived by her daughter, Carolyn N. (Brian) McConnell of Volant, PA; brother, Kevin Kelly of Georgia; and two grandchildren, Clayton and Sara McConnell, both of Volant, PA.

Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Bruce Kelly.

A Celebration on Life Service will be held from 2- 5 p.m. on Sunday November 28, 2021 at the Mahoning Valley Grange Hall on Skyhill Road. The family is asking that memorial donations be made in Karen’s name to ASPCA 2236 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11207.
