Karen Watson

Karen Watson, 69 of 125 W. North Street New Castle passed away the morning of July 26, 2023 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Karen was born August 10, 1953 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Zimmerman) Wyza. Karen was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1971. She was of the Roman Catholic faith.

Mrs. Watson worked with several local home health care companies’ here in New Castle. She retired after numerous years of service as a waitress at the former Dog house hot dog shop. Karen enjoyed her favor drink Pepsi, going to casinos, playing bingo, and watching crime shows on TV. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her son Michael.

Karen is survived by her son, Michael P. Watson of New Castle; four sisters, Bari Lynn Lambert of Mineral Ridge, OH., Cindy Majors of New Castle; Kathy (Daniel) Wolfe of Pleasantville, PA., and Doreen McCormick of New Castle, PA.; three nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra (Cookie) Rea; brother, Stanley (Butch) Wyza and nephew, Tommy Lambert.
