Kenneth L Johns

Kenneth L. Johns, 87, of 210 Hermitage Hills Blvd, Hermitage, PA passed away the morning of September 23, 2026 with his family by his side.

Ken was born January 25, 1939 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Charles H. and Sara (Thompson) Johns. Ken married the former Rose Marie Smosarski. They were married on April 4, 1959 and spent 67 years together. She survives at home. Mr. Johns was of the Presbyterian faith. He attended Lincoln High School in Ellwood City.

Following high school, Mr. Johns enlisted in the United States Navy on January 20, 1959 in Pittsburgh, PA. Ken earned the rank of CS3, E-4 on November 16, 1961. Mr. Johns was Honorably Discharged on January 19, 1965 in Charleston; SC. Ken retired after numerous years of service as a carpenter with several different companies. He enjoyed gardening, his many pets, cooking for his family, and taking care of his home. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife Rose Marie, Ken is survived by his sister, Margaret (Richard) Cappiello of IN; siblings, John, James, Carl, Jean, and Nancy; grandson, Damon Johns; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark E. Johns; and two brothers, Charles and Richard Johns.

Following his wishes there are no hours or services scheduled at this time. The family is asking that memorial donation be made in Ken’s name to Family Hospice, 700 Bower Hill Rd. Ste 1405 Pittsburgh, PA 15243. Arrangements are entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 Mill Street.
