Leon Slodowy

Leon Slodowy of S. Scotland Lane passed away the evening of June 18, 2023 at his residence. Leon was born on February 20, 1926, to the late Anthony and Eva (Tyrakowska) Slodowy, in Kielce, Poland. 

Leon immigrated to the United States in 1957.  He married the late Virginia A. (Dombek) Slodowy.  She preceded him in death in 2017. Mr. Slodowy worked as a welder and mechanic from Reiber Cadillac and Penna Engineering.

Mr. Slodowy was a member of the Bessemer Rod and Gun club and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Leon was survived by his daughter Helen A. Slodowy of New Castle. 

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his son Leon A. Slodowy Jr., and 13 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 9-11 AM at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill Street. A Blessing Service will be conducted immediately following calling hours. Seminarian Dan Roberts will officiate. Burial will take place at SS Philip and James Cemetery.
