Lilly Ellen Work 86, of New Castle passed away the morning of November 19, 2025 at her residence.
Lilly was born July 22, 1939 in Lonaconing, MD. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Virgie (Green) Bittinger. Lilly was married to the late George E. (Turk) Work Jr. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2002. They were married 36 years. Mrs. Work was of the Protestant faith. Lilly will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother by her family. Lilly was an avid gardener. Lilly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially all her grandchildren.
Mrs. Work is survived by her three sons, Frank (Dicksie) Work of Ellwood City, John (Theresa) Work of Mercer, Jeffrey Work of West Middlesex; three daughters, Karen (Mike) Kendall, Michelle (Herb) Holler, Beverly Guy, all of New Castle; brother, Bill Bittinger of East Liverpool, OH; three sisters, Rose Evans, Mary Gray, and Gardenia Wolenski; Eighteen Grandchildren; Thirty- three Great-Grandchildren; and Six Great-Great-Grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband George, Lillie was preceded in death by her son, Michael Work; sisters, Daisy Palmer and Violet Wilt; and brother, Harold Bittinger.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 New Castle PA.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Dominick Cestrone of the New Castle Revival Center will officiate. A procession will leave the funeral home afterwards for Mt. Hermon Cemetery, where the rite of committal and burial will take place.
