Louise M. Mihok, 94, of New Castle, passed away on in her sleep on the morning of July 27, 2020.
Louise was born to the late Isaiah and Martha Miller Hickey in Philadelphia on May 10, 1926. After graduating High School, she married Joseph E. Mihok, who preceded her in death on August 5, 1979; together they raised three wonderful children. She was employed at Shenango Pottery as an engraver for many years. Louise was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Louise loved sewing and crafts. She was a talented seamstress and even crafted her daughter’s wedding gown. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Louise was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who spent her time taking care of her family. She always wanted to help to lighten the burden of everyone else. She was always strong and independent and wanted to do things on her own. She lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Calvin Ruby, and her granddaughter, Jamie Ruby, for over 40 years. She was always someone who would smile and joke around with you and never acted her age. She spent her evenings watching Jeopardy with her granddaughter; she was smart and also spent time doing puzzles on her iPad. She will be greatly missed.
We all love and miss you so much, and Grandma, I will always “Love you more”.
Surviving are two children, Terri (Calvin) Ruby of New Castle and Joseph (Franci) Mihok of Tipp City, OH; two brothers, John Henry Hickey of Green Acres, WA and Harvey (Jean) Hickey of Jamestown, CA; three sisters, Adelaide Reitz of New Castle, Doris Dean of New Castle and Thelma Hickey of Florida; two grandchildren, Jamie Ruby and Matthew Mihok; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Mihok.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Mihok and a brother, Bryan Hickey.
A Mass of Christian burial for family and friends will take place on Friday, July 31, 2020, 11:00 AM at the St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 10143 Main Street, New Middletown, OH 44442 with the Reverend Stephen Zeigler officiating; burial to follow in SS. Philip & James Cemetery, New Castle, PA.
