Margaret Leckfor Obituary

Margaret A. Leckfor, 94 formerly of Shenango Township, passed away the afternoon of February 4, 2025 at the Haven Nursing Home with her family by her side.

Margaret was born July 10, 1930 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Wazyl and Agnes (Wincek) Rozak. She married Walter C. Leckfor on April 25, 1953. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2015. They were married for 62 years. Margaret was Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish- St. Joseph the Worker site. Margaret was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1948.

Margaret worked for numerous years of service as an Operator at the Bell Telephone Company. She also worked for Integra Bank which became PNC Bank and retired after 28 years of service. Margaret was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, especially to New Hampshire. She loved watching and listening to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Margaret enjoyed Polka Music and spending time with family and friends.

The family would like to thank Mark Tanner and his staff at the Haven Nursing Home for their compassionate care and Dr. David Shober along with Three Rivers Hospice for their kindness and care.

Mrs. Leckfor is survived by her son, Michael S. (Laurie) Leckfor of Hampton, NH; daughter, Karen L. Leckfor of New Castle; and several loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Walter, Margaret was preceded in death by her three brothers, Michael, John, and Charles Rozak; four sisters, Anna Bevard, Mary Presnar, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Magusiak, and Eleanor “Ellie” Michalojko.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 6, 2025 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Noga Funeral home Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle

A Blessing Service will be conducted immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Rev. Aaron Kriss, Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Margaret will be laid to rest alongside her husband at St. Nicholas Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in her name.
