Margaret L. "Peggy" (Green) Pavelek

Margaret L. Pavelek, 78, of 74 Fields Drive New Castle passed away the evening of September 16, 2023 at Select Medical Hospital in Boardman, OH.

 Margaret "Peggy" was born on February 21, 1945 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd A. and Enora (Henderson) Green. She married Andrew A. Pavelek on December 23, 1965. They were married for 58 years. Mrs. Pavelek was of the Protestant faith. She was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1963. She continued her education at the South Side Hospital earning her Nursing Degree. Margaret completed her bachelor's in nursing administration degree at Slippery Rock University in 1983 graduating Magna Cum Laude.

 Mrs. Pavelek's life mission was caring for others. Starting at a young age working as a cashier, and candy striper in the Jameson Hospital Hostess shop. Upon earning her Nursing Degree she continued working at Jameson Hospital on the 2 South ward as head nurse, and she still to this day she would get together with her former employees. Margaret worked as director of Nursing for several years and she was instrumental in the creation and development of the Jameson care center which she served as administrator. Peggy served her community for a total of 41 years. Margaret enjoyed hunting for shark teeth on the beaches of their Florida home, sitting in her sunroom enjoying the weather. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Andrew, Margaret is survived by two children, daughter, Michele (Dennis) Pavelek-Corbin of Dover, PA, and Son, Andrew (Kelly) Pavelek of Spencer, OH.; brother, Robert (Sue Taylor) Green of Fla; sister Elizabeth (Robert) Peters of New Castle; four grandchildren, Alec (Liz)Corbin, Luke (Morgan) Corbin, Jayce Corbin, and Alissa Pavelek.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 Mill Street New Castle.

 A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate.
