Marian M. (Dawson) Day

Marian M. Day, 95 of New Castle passed away the morning of January 30, 2026 at WeCare Jameson Place.

Marian was born August 30, 1930 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Martha (Bender) Dawson. Marian married the late Gerald W. Day. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1998. They were married for 32 years. Mrs. Day was of the Protestant faith. She was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1948.

Mrs. Day will be remembered as a loving sister and aunt by her family. She also worked outside the home and retired after 35 years of service as a Transfer Agent with Penn Power Electric Company. Marian was a very independent woman, she loved to travel and arranged her flights to Florida. She enjoyed going to Disney World several times a year while she was in Florida. Marian enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, playing bingo, and going on bus trips to local Casinos. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family, especially her sister.  

Marian is survived by her nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Gerald W. Day, Marian was preceded in death by her brother, Russell S. Dawson; and her sister, Ann Marie Show.

Following her wishes there are no calling hours or service scheduled at this time. Entombment will be in Graceland Mausoleum at a later date
