Marie L. (Biddle) Settle

Marie Louise Settle, 94, of Neshannock Township passed away the evening of September 8, 2021 peacefully at home with her family by her side.

Marie was born June 30, 1927 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late John L. and Margaret Ann (Bartberger) Biddle. Mrs. Settle was of the Protestant faith.

 Marie was a retiree of Liberty Mutual where she worked for 25 years. After retirement, she was very active in the community with her volunteer work and hobbies. She enjoyed going bowling, playing golf, going for walks, and was an avid reader.  She was a member of Challenges where she enjoyed spending time with friends, the German Club, and participating in the Senior Olympics. 

Marie is survived by her loving daughter, Linda L. Szabo of New Castle; sister, Marlene A. (James) Stewart of New Castle: three grandchildren, David Edwards of Hermitage, PA, Jason Edwards of Martinsburg, WV, and Erin Edwards of New Castle; four great-grandchildren, SSgt. Darrin Edwards, USAF, AR, Jenna Cornman of York Haven, PA, Colin and Paige Edwards of Martinsburg, WV; her nephews, whom she thought of as grandchildren, Scott (Marla) Stewart and their children, Joshua, Arianna, and Brennan, and Kevin (Amy) Stewart and their children, Walker and Bo (Robert); along with numerous other nieces and nephews and their families.

Mrs. Settle was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Joseph L. Biddle; nephew, John L. Biddle; former husband, Fred H. Settle; and son-in-law, John Szabo.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 Mill Street New Castle.

A Funeral service will immediately follow visitation in the funeral home. Pastor Ron Wethli will officiate. Burial will be in Castleview Cemetery.
