Mary Ann (Krueger) Dess

Mary Ann Dess, 82, of Shenango Township, passed away the morning of July 4, 2022 at her residence after a brief illness.

Mary Ann was born June 13, 1940 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Bevan) Krueger. Mrs. Dess was married to the late Robert L. Dess. He preceded her in death in 2005. Mary Ann was Roman Catholic and attended Holy Spirit Parish. She was a graduate of New Castle High School, Class of 1958.

Mrs. Dess retired after 20 years of service as a cafeteria server and cashier with the Shenango Elementary School system. She enjoyed scrapbooking, puzzles, and crocheting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Amy Lynn (James) Schwender of Saunderstown, R.I.; two sons, Kenneth R. Dess of New Castle and Greg Dess of Ft. Wayne, IN.; and six grandchildren, Evan (Jamie), Leah, Ryan and Marc Schwender, and Jake and Mitch Dess.

In addition to her parents and husband Robert, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her brother, John (Jack) Krueger.

Private visitation for family and close friends will be on Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street New Castle.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday, July 8, 2022 for Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Brendan Dawson, Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Inurnment will be in Parkside Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 .
