Mary Jane (Quarella) Kliem

Mary Jane Kliem, 86, of Roberts Lane, New Castle passed away peacefully the morning of December 8, 2025. 

Mary Jane was born November 19, 1939 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Zarilla) Quarella. Mary Jane married the late Nicholas F. Kliem, Jr. on September 27, 1969. They were married for 54 years. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2023. Mary Jane was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1957. She was of Roman Catholic faith and a member of Holy Spirit Parish-St. Camillus site.

Mary Jane worked in the insurance industry at Navarra Insurance.  She went on to co-own Card Creations with her close friend, Pat Shearer. Mary Jane had a young hearted spirit, taking great pleasure in traveling many charming destinations with her husband Nick. She enjoyed going on casino trips, hosting card club, and meeting up with friends for Dutch treat. She also liked volunteering at the Mission Barn. But, most of all, she loved being surrounded by family.  

Mary Jane is survived by her two sons, David S. (Connie) Kliem of Erie, PA, and Christian J. (Heidi) Kliem of New Castle, PA; sister, Joann (Tom) Kent of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren, Alec, Madison, Aiden Kliem, and Ella and Ty Holland. She is also survived by a special niece Renee (Anthony) Gabriel and nephew A.J. Kahrer  

In addition to her parents and husband Nicholas, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Kahrer. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday December 13, 2025 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 Mill Street, New Castle. 

A Blessing service will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home following the viewing. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Castleview Cemetery.
