Micheal Orlando Obituary

Michael Orlando, 71. of 1429 Johnson Street, New Castle passed away the afternoon of September 17, 2022 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Michael was born October 22, 1951 in New Castle.  He was the son of the late Steve and Josephine (Konstal) Orlando.  Michael was married to the former Helen Stackiewicz.  They were married on October 18, 1973 and were married for 49 years.  Mr. Orlando was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish.  Michael was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1969.  Mr. Orlando worked for several local companies in maintenance, those being the former W. R. Grace, the former St. Francis Hospital, and the Nugent Group nursing home, from which he retired. He was an all-around Mr. Fix-it and enjoyed tinkering with everything.  He was a member of the former CG's Club and enjoyed watching TV and all Pittsburgh sports teams.  Michael also loved animals and always had a good night snack ready for his pets.  The family would greatly appreciate that the next time you have a drink, think of him and please raise one up in his honor.  His greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife, sons, and his granddaughter.

In addition to his wife Helen, Michael is survived by his two sons, Tony Orlando and his girlfriend Brittany Fair, and Mike Orlando, both of New Castle; two sisters, Cookie (Edward) Allen of New Castle and Marie Elias of Laguna Niguel Ca.; his granddaughter Haleigh Orlando of New Castle; his brother-in-law Dan Dandreano of Gambrills Md.; his sister-in-law Lucy Stackiewicz of Baltimore Md.; his goddaughter Melissa Brenner of Charlotte, NC.; several nieces and nephews;  his cat Gypsy, and dog, Sebastian.

Mr. Orlando was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joseph and Anthony Orlando; and his sister Betty Dandreano.

Following in Michael's wishes a private family service will be held later this week.  Local arrangements are entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 Mill St., New Castle.  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorial donations be made in his name to your favorite animal rescue.
