Nancy Ellen Thomas

Nancy Ellen Thomas, 76, of West Pittsburg passed away the morning of January 27, 2021 at The Avalon Place.

Nancy was born August 15, 1944 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late William (Ann) Taylor and Eva (Frank) Call. Nancy was married to the late Joseph A. Thomas. He preceded her in death December 30, 2018. They were married for 46 years. Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1962.

Mrs. Thomas retired after 20 years of service as a house mother at the former Youth Development Center in New Castle. She will be remembered by her family as a loving sister, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, JoEllen Thomas of New Castle; son, Gregory (Kristen)Thomas of Youngstown, Oh.; step-daughter, Renee (Anthony) Gabriele of New Castle; two brothers, Robert Taylor, and Guy (Helen) Call both of New Castle; sister, Roseann (Alan) Lee of Sarver, PA; and two grandchildren, Eric and Montana Pastore both of New Castle.

In addition to her parents and husband Joseph, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother Donald Snyder.

Private family visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street New Castle, PA.

A Funeral service and Rite of Committal will be conducted at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Very Rev. Richard Salley of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church will officiate.  Burial will be in Castleview Cemetery.
