Staff Sgt. Patrick D. Flannery, Jr. 30, passed away on March 13, 2022. He was born in Ellwood City to Patrick Flannery Sr. and Kari (Dave) Altman on April 18, 1991. He graduated from Shenango High School in 2009. He enlisted in the U.S Army in 2012 as a 13F, Fire Support Specialist and was assigned to the U.S Army Central since November of 2018.
His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon.
He was a man full of life with an amazing smile that captured the hearts of everyone he met. He loved spending time with his family and always made sure they were having fun. He loved the outdoors and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He had such a loving impact on his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
He was survived by his wife Miranda (Castro) Flannery; two children, Emma A. and James P.; sister, Amber L. (Bobby) Zarilla; stepbrother, Senior Airman David (Payden) Altman; nieces, Eliana Zarilla and Jane Altman; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Susan Hepler, and Jackie and Richard Murray; great grandparents, Donald Sr. and Mary Hepler and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Patrick is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents James and Dorothy Flannery.
Visitation will be held on Monday March 28, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. at Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle PA 16101. A Blessing Service will take place immediately following the visitation. Deacon John Carran will officiate.
