Pearl Len of New Castle, PA, age 96, passed away Sunday, June 2, days shy of her 97th birthday. She was born Pearl Yakubik on June 18, 1927, to Peter and Nellie Schmidt Yakubik and was a 1947 graduate of Hickory Township High School in East Brook, PA.
Pearl is survived by her daughters Cheryl (husband Michael Welch), Lorraine (husband Dave Buck), Karen (husband John Hinely) and son John Len II; grandchildren Amy, Alissa, Nicholas, Jonathan (wife Mara), Ashlee (husband Sean Lucas) and great grandson Jayden. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years John Len I, sisters (Mary, Suzanne, Sophie, Elizabeth, Eleanor), brothers (Paul, Frank, Stanley, Rudy) and countless other loved ones.
She had a very fulfilling life working as the administrative assistant retiring from the Lawrence County Inheritance Tax office. Everyone who knew Pearl felt her big heart and giving nature. She will be missed especially by her immediate family, with whom she spent countless hours. She enjoyed shopping, looking for a great bargain and getting away to Florida with the Bucks to enjoy the warm weather. She truly was a ‘hands-on, sleeves rolled up’ parent who was always ready and willing to help out. Her life was filled with many happy times and she will fondly be remembered for every one of them.
Visitation is Friday, June 7th from 10 – 11am at Noga Funeral Home 1142 South Main Street New Castle Pa. A private family service will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
