Raymond J. Wojtowicz, 78 of Edinburg passed away the afternoon of January 23, 2020 with his family at his side.
Raymond was born December 20, 1941 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Cashmere G. and Ann Kowlek Wojtowicz. He was married to the former Theresa Zuzow for 48 years. Raymond was of the Protestant faith, and was a member of New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Union High School.
Following graduation, Raymond enlisted in the United States Army on June 16, 1961 in Pittsburgh, PA. Raymond earned the rank of SP4 on October 18, 1963. Mr. Wojtowicz was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and was Honorably Discharged on June 3, 1964 at Fort Hamilton, New York. Mr. Wojtowicz retired after numerous years of service as a laborer at several local manufacturing plants; among them were former Rockwell International, Youngstown Sheet and Tube and eventually retiring from Roemer Industry in Masury, OH. He most recently was employed with the Lawrence County Catholic Cemetery Association. Raymond enjoyed hunting, riding his motorcycle, watching boxing on television, and caring for his pets.
In addition to his wife Theresa, Raymond is survived by his son, Raymond (Holly) Wojtowicz, II of New Castle; sister, May Ann (Don) Pilch of New Castle; and several Nieces and Nephews.
Besides his parents, Mr. Wojtowicz was preceded in death by his niece Diane Pilch
