Robert J. Defonso

Robert J. Defonso, 78, of 4142 Monroeville Blvd. Monroeville, PA. passed after the afternoon of October 21, 2023 at Monroeville Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.

Robert was born August 23, 1945 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Charles and Sophie Defonso. Robert was married to the former Carol Morino. They were married for 21 years. She preceded him in death in 1992. Robert was of the Roman Catholic faith. He was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1963.

Mr. Defonso retired after 25 years of service as a crane operator with the former Babcock/Wilcox Corporation in Beaver Falls. Mr. Defonso was an avid hunter and fisherman in his early years. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter.

Robert is survived by his son, Justin (Dana) Defonso of McKeesport, PA; brother, Thomas (Carol) Defonso of Florida; and his granddaughter, Antoinette Defonso of McKeesport, PA.

In addition to his parents and wife Carol, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, William Defonso.

Following his wishes, there are no calling hours or services scheduled at this time. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
