Robert W. Nestorek, Sr., 81, of Portersville, PA passed away the evening of April 22, 2021 at UPMC Jameson Hospital with family beside him.
Robert was born June 22, 1939 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Berested) Nestorek. Mr. Nestorek attended The Lillyville Church of God in Ellwood City.
Mr. Nestorek worked as a laborer at several local steel mills, among those were Babcock Wilcox and Sharon Steel. Robert retired after numerous years of service in the administration department of the former Youth and Development Center in New Castle. Mr. Nestorek loved his family. He was a true outdoorsman. Robert enjoyed going to camp, hunting, auctions and loved a bargain. Robert had a great sense of humor and was known by his friends as “Russian”.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert W. (Tracy) Nestorek of New Castle; daughter, Sondra M. (Mark) Keith of Volant, PA sisters, Bernadine (Ron) Kurdziolek of North Syracuse, NY, and Julia Ann Becker of New Castle; five grandchildren, Harvey Flowers, Ashley Flowers, Brandon (Haley) Nestorek, Travis (Angie) Keith, and Preston Keith; and three great-grandchildren, Lucas Nestorek, Hunter Keith, and Connor Keith.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by three brothers, John Nestorek, Martin Nestorek, and Stephen Nestorek, who died in his early childhood; sister, Helen Cimperman; and his companion, Becky Maine.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 Mill Street New Castle.
A Funeral Service will be conducted immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Pastor Dennis Arndt of the Lillyville Church of God will officiate.
