Ronald Edward Iwanejko, Sr., 72, of New Castle, PA., passed away the evening of Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Ron was born August 8, 1950 at Jameson Hospital, New Castle, Pa., to Edward S. and Verna B. Iwanejko.
Ron graduated from New Castle Area Senior High School, class of 1969. After high school, Ron was employed as shift foreman at Babcock & Wilcox, Beaver Falls, Pa. He also had an affinity for the craft of baking, and worked for several local bakeries. Ron perfected his craft of baking through his father, Edward.
Ron met the former Kathleen D. Morgan in junior high school at Ben Franklin. After many walks home and a shooting star, Ron and Kathleen were married on August 15, 1970. They were married for 52 years. She survives at home.
Throughout his lifetime, Ron was an outdoorsman. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting. Ron enjoyed weekly fishing trips to Pymatuning State Park with family.
Ron was musically inclined and enjoyed playing accordion and the organ. He also enjoyed softball, ran track, bowled, and played golf.
Ron was a family man who always looked out for others. If anyone ever needed Ron’s help, he was always there to lend a hand.
Ron will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his daughter, Kim Clarke, and husband Tom, and their children Nick and Brendan; son, Ron Iwanejko, Jr., and fiancée Dodi, and his children Ethan and Gabriel; son, Michael Iwanejko, and wife Lorraine, and their children Madison and Maci; and son, Mark Iwanejko, and his wife Sheri, and their children Liam and Gavin; brother, Edward Richard “Rick” Iwanejko, and wife, Carole; sister, Cindy Mazzant, and husband Jake; sister, Bonnie Klamut, and husband, Dennis; and brother, Rob Iwanejko; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.
A Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Msgr. John A Rencewicz II of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in Ron’s name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200 Rye Brook, NY 10573.
