Ronald J. Papa

Ronald J. Papa, 77, of 2479 Wampum Mt. Air Road passed away the afternoon of March 15, 2024 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Ronald was born on May 18, 1946 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Roy and Rose (Allegro) Papa.  After high school, he continued his education by attending Case Western Reserve University for three years. Mr. Papa was Roman Catholic and a member of Holy Spirit Parish.

Mr. Papa enlisted in the United States Army on August 22, 1967 in New Castle, PA. He was transferred to the United States Reserve in Fort Myer, Va. on August 22, 1969. Mr. Papa earned the rank of Private first class on July 28, 1969. Ronald received both the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was Honorably Discharged on August 1, 1973 in Pittsburgh, PA. Ronald was a self-employed, he repaired electronics and computers. Ronald was a big animal lover and enjoyed taking the family dog for walks.

Ronald is survived by a brother, Ralph (Anne) Papa of Swarthmore, PA; two sisters, Rita (Gary) Papa Kos of New Galilee, PA and Rosanne Papa of West Pittsburg, PA; and loving nephews and niece, Brian (Meg) Papa, Adam Kos and Katharine Kos.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.

A Blessing Service will immediately follow visitation in the funeral home. Rev. Aaron Kriss, Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Ronald’s family would like memorial donations to be made in his name to Disabled American Veterans 2044 Youngstown Road SE, Warren, OH 44484.
