Ronald Witkowski Obituary

Ronald J. (Ron) Witkowski, 82, 308 Mission Meade Drive, New Castle passed away the afternoon January 30, 2026 UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

Ron was born January 19, 1944 in Camden, NJ. He was the son of the late Stanley J. and Victoria Irma (Guziski) Witkowski. Ronald was married to the former Joan M. Sniezek. They were married for 57 years, she survives at home. Mr. Witkowski was Roman Catholic and a member of Holy Spirit Parish-St. Camillus site. Ron was a graduate of Camden Catholic High School, class of 1964.  He continued his education by attending Youngstown State University earning his bachelor’s degree in Business and Accounting.

Ron retired after numerous years of employment with Foster Grading in Mercer as their controller; he previously worked as a CPA with Carbis Walker in New Castle. Ron was a member of New Castle Paws-n-Taws square dancing club, He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, going to the beach, and coaching youth baseball, softball, and bowling. Ron played the accordion for 18 years and was a member of the family band, Harmony Sharps. What he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Those who knew him most remember his laughter and the genuine kindness he showed to everyone around him.

Ron was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army National Guard of Pennsylvania; he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant/E6, HHS BTRY, 1st BN, 229th Arty. He entered service on September 9, 1963 and was discharged on September 8, 1969. Ron was a Radar Section Chief and received the Gen T J Stewart Medal and Pa Service Ribbon.

In addition to his wife Joan, Ronald is survived by his two daughters, Lynn M. Witkowski, and Ronda A. Witkowski and companion Billy Owens, both of Wexford, PA; son, Jeffrey J. (Margaret) Witkowski of Pittsburgh, PA; and three grandchildren, Diane Witkowski, Evelyn Witkowski, and Caitlin Witkowski, all of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Witkowski was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street New Castle. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites for Ron at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

The family requests all to meet at the church for a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Camillus Church. Rev. Benjamin Barr, Pastor of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Entombment will be in Castleview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers the family is asking memorial donations be made in Ronald’s name to Hillman Cancer Research 3410 Wilmington Road New Castle PA, 16105 or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 333 E. Carson Street, #441 E, Pittsburgh, PA. 15219.
