Rose Presnar Obituary

Rose Marie Presnar, 83, died Friday afternoon, June 4, 2021, at home with family by her side.

She was born November 11, 1937 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Martin (Tomczyk) Thompson and Josephine (Walczak) Thompson.

Rose was a homemaker and was a member of Holy Spirit (St. Phillip & James) Parish.

She was married to the late Stanley D. Presnar Jr., and they celebrated 62 years of marriage last June. Rose was preceded in death on August 16, 2020, by her beloved husband; Stanley D. Presnar Jr. She dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rose Marie was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1957.

Over the years, Rose enjoyed going to car shows and meeting new friends. She also enjoyed going to family reunions, cooking, baking, and going to the casinos and out to dinner with family and friends.  

Rose Marie is survived by her three children, Janice D. Presnar of New Castle, Lynn T. McGahan and her companion Brad Burd of New Castle, and Stanley “Chip” D. Presnar III and his wife Patricia of New Castle; three grandchildren, Ashley Fambro and her husband Demetrius, Dr. Mackenzie McGahan, and Shane McGahan; and three great-grandchildren, Demetrius “Bud”, Riley, and Mia.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dolly Bruno; and two brothers, John Thompson, and Marion Tomczyk.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 4 to 7p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 Mill Street.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. for Holy Spirit Parish-St. Vitus Site, where a Mass of Christian Burial and Rite of Committal will be held at 10:30. Father Joseph McCaffrey, Pastor of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in SS Phillip and James Cemetery. Special thanks to the Anova Hospice staff, and Passavant Memorial Home staff for the compassionate care they provided to Rose and her family. The family is asking memorial donations be made to Anova Hospice, 17 McKean Ave. suite 1, Charleroi, PA 15022.
