Rosemarie Q (Quarterson) Skiba

Rosemarie Q. Skiba, 93, of New Castle, passed away the morning of June 4, 2023 at Shenango on the

Green.

Rosemarie was born July 13, 1929 in Sharon, PA. She was the daughter of the late August J. and Marie

(Will) Quarterson. Rosemarie was married to the late George E. Skiba. He preceded her in death on

February 13, 2006. They were married for 55 years. Rosemarie was a graduate of Farrell High School,

class of 1947.

Mrs. Skiba retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Health as a Community Health Nurse after

many years of service; she also worked at Sharon Regional Hospital as a CRNA. She graduated from C.H

Buhl Hospital School of Nursing in 1950 and completed her CRNA from St. Elizabeth’s School for nurse

anesthetists in Youngstown in 1953. Rosemarie also enjoyed needlepoint, sewing, singing in the church

choir and singing with the Sweet Adelines. She was also a member of the Eintracht.

Mrs. Skiba is survived by her four children, Janet. L (Robert) Rice, New Wilmington, Christie M. Skiba,

Wheatland PA, Eric G. (Kim) Skiba, Greenville PA and Michael A.J. Skiba, New Castle; sister-in-law,

Sandra Quarterson, Mechanicsburg PA; 10 grandchildren, and 3 great- grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband George, Rosemarie is preceded in death by her brothers Ralph

and August J. Quarterson.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, June 12, 2023  from 3-4 p.m. at Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 Mill Street,

New Castle.

A Funeral service will be celebrated immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Pastor David

A. Snyder of St. John’s Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will take place at the National Cemetery of
