Rudolph Marketich Obituary

Rudolph Marketich, 87, of 3442 Ellwood Road, New Castle, passed away the morning of July 13, 2020, at Grove City Medical Center. 
Rudy was born on Sept. 1, 1932, in New Castle. He was a son of the late Pete and Mary Marketich. 
He was married to the former Donna Weigle. She survives him at home. 
Mr. Marketich enlisted in the United States Army on April 17, 1953, in New Castle. Rudy was a member of the Battery A 802 FA BN Company. Mr. Marketich earned the rank of SP 2. He received many decorations and citations, among them where the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Medal. Rudy was honorably discharged on March 31, 1956, in Fort Dix, New Jersey. 
Mr. Marketich retired after 30 years of service as a machinist at the former Wein United of Youngstown, Ohio. 
Rudy was a member of the VFW 315 in New Castle. He enjoyed fishing and going golfing. 
In addition to his wife, Donna, Rudy is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Marketich of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Brian (Stephanie) Marketich of Beaver Falls and Randy (Stacy) Marketich of Cochranton, Pennsylvania; brothers, Edwin Marketich of New Brighton, Eugene (Judy) Marketich of New Castle, and Stanley Marketich of New Castle; two sisters, Patty (Ray) Boyd and Charlotte Pitzer, both of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Nathan Marketich, Heidi Marketich and Dylan Marketich. 
Rudy was preceded in death by both his parents; brother, Louis Marketich; two sisters, Helen Oliver and Carol Marketich; sister-in-law, Sandy Marketich; and grandson, Andrew Marketich. 
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform full military honors for Rudolph at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. 
A funeral service will be held immediately following military honors at the funeral home. Pastor Randy Marketich of Methodist Church of Meadville will officiate. 
Burial will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
