Salvatore J. Russo

Salvatore J. Russo, 79, of S. Liberty Street, New Castle, passed away the morning of July 3, 2022 at Quality Life Services, New Castle.

Salvatore was born July 13, 1942 in New Castle, PA to the late Bennie and Mary (Rossi) Russo. He was married for 58 years to the former Marie A. Mastrantuoni, she survives at home. Salvatore was Roman Catholic and a member of Holy Spirit Parish-St. Lucy site. He worked for many years as a Laborer at Babcock/Wilcox in Koppel, PA.

Mr. Russo was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1960. He was a lifetime member of the St. Margaret Club and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Salvatore is survived by his children Ben (Lori) Russo, New Castle and Carrie (Gary) Commesso, Chippewa; brother, Domenick (Cathy) Russo; Grandchildren Benjamin Russo, Natalie Russo, Karlie Russo and Brendan Latsko, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Salvatore is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Bailey Marie Latsko.

A private memorial mass will take place later this week. Burial will be at St. Lucy’s Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home, Inc, 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle PA 16101.
