Shirley M (Warso) Scocchera

Shirley M. Scocchera, 85 of 445 Ivy Drive, New Castle passed away the
afternoon of March 19, 2023 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Shirley was born on March 23, 1937 in New Castle PA. She was the
daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Gush) Warso. Shirley was
married to the late Donald J. Scocchera. He preceded her in death in 1987.
They were married for 27 years. After high school graduation, Shirley
graduated from Cosmetology school. Mrs. Scocchera was Roman Catholic
and attended Holy Spirit Parish- St. Camillus site.
Mrs. Scocchera was a loving homemaker. She loved going out to eat
and shopping. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. To them
she was their Gam.
Shirley is survived by her daughters Jeanette S. (David) Miller,
Waxhaw, NC and Amy L. (Joel) Bender, Volant, PA; four
grandchildren, Zach (Vanessa) Miller, Houston TX, Jenna Miller,
Charlotte, NC, Reese Bender and Caelan Bender, both of Volant.
She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Donald, Shirley was preceded
in death by her brother, Joseph (Pete) Warso.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. at the Noga
Funeral Home Inc., 1142 Mill Street, New Castle. A Blessing Service
will take place immediately following visitation. Seminarian Dan
Roberts will officiate. Burial will take place on Thursday morning at
Castleview Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made in
Shirley’s name to the Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org or Holy
Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Church.
