Stanley D. Presnar Jr., 91, died Sunday morning, August 16, 2020, at home with family by his side. He was born on December 29, 1928, in Wampum, a son of the late Stanley and Pelagia (Olzak) Presnar.

Stanley enlisted in the United States Navy on January 22, 1948 in New Castle, Pennsylvania serving a five year span during the Korean War, earning the rank of AM2 (T); he was honorably discharged on January 21, 1953 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Stanley retired from Parker-Hannifin (Commercial) in Youngstown, OH after 35 years of service and was a member of Holy Spirit (St. Phillips & James) Parish. Over the years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. After Stanley retired in 1990, he and his son worked for several years restoring and enjoying a 1948 Chevy, which he and his wife Rose, and grandson Shane enjoyed for many years, going to car shows and meeting new friends. Stanley’s winter hobby was snowmobiling with his son, grandson, and friends. He was able to enjoy riding snowmobiles well into his mid-eighties. He also enjoyed going to family reunions, gardening, and could fix just about anything. He dedicated his life to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by three children, Lynn T. McGahan and her companion Brad Burd of New Castle, Janice D. Presnar of New Castle, and Stanley “Chip” D. Presnar III and his wife Patricia, of New Castle; one sister, Margaret Jones and husband Jesse of New Castle; three grandchildren, Ashley Fambro and her husband Demetrius, Dr. Mackenzie McGahan, and Shane McGahan; and three great-grandchildren, Demetrius “Bud”, Riley, and Mia.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Edward, Louis, Henry, Albert, and Andrew Presnar; and four sisters, Pelagia “Bessie” Wise, Frances Cimperman, Bernice Babick, and Catherine DeRosa.
