Stella D. (Bistyga) Bruno

Stella D. Bruno, 89 of 513 Smithfield Street, New Castle passed away November 12, 2020 at her residence.

Stella was born December 30, 1930 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Jakub and Agnes (Glazer) Bistyga. She was married to the late Rudolph A. Bruno. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2019. They were married for 65 years. Stella was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish-Mary, Mother of Hope site. Stella was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1948.

Mrs. Bruno worked as a Clerk at Country House Christmas Shop in New Wilmington, finally retiring from Lynn’s Hallmark Card Shop. Stella was a member of the Ladies Guild of the former Madonna Church. She enjoyed doing many different crafts and Faberge Eggs. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Stella is survived by four children, Janet (Jeff) Dennis of New Castle, Carole (Stanley) Misiuda of Monaca PA, Ronald (Stephanie) Bruno of Pittsburgh, PA., and Laurie Bruno of New Castle; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband Rudolph, Stella was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Edward Bistyga; and six half brothers and sisters.

Private visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2020 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.

A Blessing Service will be conducted immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Seminarian Merv Knieriem of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, cards can be sent to the Bruno family residence at 513 Smithfield Street, New Castle, PA 16101.
