Stella M. Rybka, 88, of 1106 Matilda Ave. New Castle passed away the morning of March 4, 2025 at Quality Life Services.
Stella was born January 10, 1937 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Kusnierz) Sniezek. She was married to the late Frank J. Rybka. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2016. They were married for 59 years. Stella was a member of Holy Spirit Parish – Mary, Mother of Hope site. Mrs. Rybka was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1954. She continued her education at Jameson School of Nursing, class of 1957.
Mrs. Rybka will be remembered by her family as a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also worked for more than 40 years as a Nurse Anesthetist at Jameson Hospital. Stella was a member of the Jameson Alumni Association.
Mrs. Rybka is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Jo. (Sam) Bernstine, Marianne (Bob) Burkes; and Marcia Lynne (David) Salmen, all of New Castle; brother, Joseph J. (Patty) Sniezek of Morristown, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Rep. Aaron J. (Ilia) Bernstine, Dr. Bobby (Dr. Aileen) Burkes, Jason (Jenna) Burkes, David Burkes, Alyson (Alex) Bable, Joey (Kaylee) Salmen; and eleven great-grandchildren, Dierks Bernstine, Geo Bernstine, Zendaya Bernstine, Shannon Burkes, Kelly Burkes, Molly Burkes, Michael Burkes, Jason Burkes, Averie Salmen, Joey Salmen, and Bryant Bable.
In addition to her parents and husband Frank, Stella was preceded in death by her daughter, Patti Sue Rybka; brother, Edward S. Sniezek; and great grandson, Bryce Bable.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 for 2 to 5 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S Mill Street New Castle.
A Blessing service will be held immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Rev. Aaron Kriss, Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks for the kindness shown to Stella by the staff of Quality Life Services and Three Rivers Hospice at her time of need.
