Stephanie Gennock Obituary

 

Stephanie M. Gennock, 88, of New Castle, passed away the evening of September 20, 2020 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Mrs. Gennock was born November 6, 1931 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Constance and Christina (Zych) Gozewski. She was married to the late John (“Rags”) N. Gennock. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1986. They were married for 30 loving years. Mrs. Gennock was Roman Catholic and attended Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. Stephanie was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1949.

Mrs. Gennock will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family and faith were two of the most important things in her life.  She dedicated her time to her children and grandchildren and had a strong belief in her faith and church. Stephanie had a love of cooking, enjoyed a big garden, and traveling with her family.

Stephanie is survived by seven children, Christopher (Carmie) Gennock of Fresno, CA; Denise (Ted Albertini) Galmarini of New Castle, Janine (James) Book of Wexford, PA; Laurie (Michael) DeRosa of York, PA; Barbie Gennock of New Castle; Mary (Peter) Moniodes of New Castle; and John S. (Debra) Gennock of New Castle; fifteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband John, Stephanie was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Gennock; two brothers, Stanley Gozewski and Walter Gozewski; and two sisters, Mary Seergae, and Genevieve Gozewski.

A private Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Holy Spirit Parish - St. Vitus site.  Rev. Brendan Dawson Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish officiated. Committal and burial was in SS Philip and James Cemetery.  The family is asking that memorial donations be made in Stephanie’s name to Holy Spirit Parish, 915 S. Jefferson St. New Castle, PA 16101.
