Susan J. (Durant) Ryhal

Susan J. Ryhal, 77, of 181 Firehall Road New Castle passed away the afternoon on March 27, 2024 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Butler.

Susan was born February 15, 1947 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the later James and Virginia (Schefenocker) Durant. Susan was married to the late Albert M. Ryhal. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2004. They were married for 27 years. 

Mrs. Ryhal will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also worked outside her home as a sale associate with Walmart for 18 years. She enjoyed solving puzzles, was an avid shopper, and enjoyed baking for her family and grandchildren. Susan also loved working with her hands knitting, crocheting, and crafting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends especially, her grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her four daughters, Tina M. (Michael) Miller of Butler, PA, Tracy L. Braho of New Castle; Tammy S. Lee of Sewickley, PA, and Brittany A. (Patrick) McGuire of New Castle; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband Albert, Susan was preceded in death by two sisters, Karen Daugherty, and Heidi Durant; brother, James Durant, and grandson, Ryan Braho.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street New Castle.

A funeral service will be conducted immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
