Terence “Terry” Teplica, 79, of New Castle passed away the morning of September 6, 2023, at Heritage
Valley Hospital.
Terry was born in New Castle on July 24, 1944. He was the son of the late Stephen and Eleanor (Warso)
Teplica. He was married to the late Anna “Patti” Papa Teplica. Terry was of the Russian Orthodox faith
and a long-standing member and officer of St. Nicholas Church and attended St. Elias Orthodox church.
He was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1962.
Following graduation, Terry attended Rutgers State University before enlisting in the Armed Forces.
Terry served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970. While in the Navy, Terry graduated from the
Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA and worked as an Interpreter/Translator. He was a
member of the Eagles Nest #455 and Elks Lodge #69. Terry coached girls’ softball and basketball, boys’
basketball, and North Hills Pop Warner Redskins Football. He enjoyed attending Sioux of ’62 class
reunions and Warso family reunions. His hobbies included woodworking, golfing, and spending time
with his grandchildren.
Terry is survived by his children Frank (Renee) Jannetti, Pulaski and Denise (Jeff) DiMartino, Nashville TN;
Sisters Paula T. Albert, Owings Mills, MD and Linda M. Teplica, Ocean View, DE; 6 grandchildren; Alex,
Cassi, Bekka, Vincent, Joseph, and Michael, and 3 great-grandchildren; Cade, Grayson, and Eliana. He is
also survived by a niece, Megan (Mitch) Albert, a nephew, Robert (Kathy) Albert, and three great-
nephews; Christopher, Matthew, and Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Military Honors will be held at Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 South Mill Street, New Castle on
September 10, at 5:45 pm. Visitation follows from 6-8 PM and a Trisagion service will be celebrated at 8
PM with the Very Reverend Father Kevin Long officiating.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 11th at 10 AM at St. Elias Orthodox Church
officiated by the Very Reverend Kevin Long. Everyone please meet at church. Burial will be at St. Nicholas Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Terry’s name to The St. Nicholas Cemetery Fund c/o St. Elias Orthodox
