Theodoros Papazekos

Theodoros Papazekos, 95, of New Castle passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday June 3, 2020 with loving family at his side.

Theodoros was born February 10, 1925 in Granista, Greece. He was married for 68 years Ekaterini Zacharakis surviving at home; together they raised four wonderful children. He moved his family to the United States from Greece in 1975.Theodoros was employed at the M&P Coney Island for over 25 years. He dedicated his life to his family and felt he was the richest man alive having his entire family here with him.

Besides his wife Ekaterini Papazekos, surviving are his three children, Chris (Elizabeth) Papazekos of New Castle, Kalliope (Vasilios) Neofotistos of New Castle and Pantelis (Joanna) Papazekos of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Agatha Katsadas of New Castle and Virginia Mpouras of Greece; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Konstantinos Papazekos; two sisters, Eleni Liapis and Chrysoula Kardambikis.

Services were held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Castle with The Rev. Father Michael A. Gavrilos, officiating. Burial immediately followed in the St. Elias Greek Orthodox Monastery Cemetery, Saxonburg, PA.
