Walter A. Dec, Jr.

Walter A. Dec, Jr., 74, of 520 Friendship Street passed away the morning of August 1, 2021 at Quality of life Services.

Walter was born December 2, 1946 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Walter A. and Catherine (Mucha) Dec Sr. He was married to the late Whitney Dec. Mr. Dec was of the Christian faith. Walter was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1964.

Mr. Dec worked as a laborer at L&M Fabricators and retired from KD Machine Shop in New Castle. He was a member of several bowling leagues. Walter enjoyed going fishing and hunting. He also loved to go for rides in his car. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Walter is survived by two daughters, Carol (Albert) Melott and Jamie (Lawrence) Avery, Jr., both of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Danille Melott, Ryan Avery, and Jason Avery, all of New Castle.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Whitney Dec.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.

A Blessing Service will be immediately follow visitation at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Ronald Eade of The Genesis Church will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery
