Wayne Leroy “Skip” Fennell, Jr., 70 of 1506 E. Washington Street passed away the evening of January 24, 2026 with his family by his side.
Wayne was born December 1, 1955 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Wayne L. and Shirley “Ruth” (Zorens) Fennell, Sr. Wayne was of the Christian faith. He was a graduate of Lawrence County Vocational Technical School, class of 1974.
Mr. Fennell retired after numerous years of service with several local HVAC companies. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, picking all types of mushrooms, and berries. He was a member of the Mahoning Sportsman Club and the Jagielly Club. He also enjoyed watching wrestling on television and was a Bigfoot hunter. Wayne liked taking the long way around things and would prefer to drive all rural routes instead of interstates. He loved going to his grandchildren’s sporting events. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Wayne is survived by his four daughters, Brandy (Tim) Metheney, Melissa Tilton, Heather Fennell, and Amanda Fennell; son, Shane (Rhonda) Fennell; two brothers, Pete (Cathy) Fennell, and John (Becky) Fennell; sister Karen Wilson; ten grandchildren, Bridget and Tyson, Hanna and Willem, Emily and Nathan, Aiden, Avayla, Jacob, and Elijah; three great-grandchildren Zairiah, Briella, and Azayla; and his best friend Patsy (Rhonda) Aluisia.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, David Fennell.
Following his wishes there are no calling hours or services scheduled at this time. A Celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Local arrangements were entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S Mill Street 1142 Mill Street New Castle PA.
