William P. Alexander, 89, of Shenango Twp. passed way the morning of September 14, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.
William was born February 19, 1934 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Constant and Josephine (Wojciechowski) Alexander. He was married to the former Betty J. Nycz. She survives at home. They were married for 69 wonderful years. William was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1952. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish-St. Vitus site.
Mr. Alexander retired after 35 years of service as a lineman with Penn Power. Bill was an avid reader; he was a former life-long member of S.S. Philip and James Church and St. Vincent DePaul. While at S.S. Philip and James, he served on the church council for 26 years, he was an usher and past president of Holy Name Society. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 512 as a 3rd Degree Knight, Penn Power Men’s Club, and served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957 and was Honorably Discharged. Bill loved planting flowers and had a very large garden. He took pleasure in sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends.
He leaves behind his wife, Betty; daughter, Marybeth (Michael) Angiolelli of Poland, OH; two grandchildren, Atty. Michael Angiolelli, and Ashley Angiolelli.
Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edmund Alexander; and two sisters, Helen Otlawski and Edna Kibish.
At the request of his family there is no calling hours. The family will meet friends at Holy Spirit Parish – St. Vitus site, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, September 18, 2023. The Rev. Aaron Kriss Parochial Vicar will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
