William Bluedorn Obituary

William Phillips Bluedorn, 91, of Harlansburg passed away July 2, 2020 peacefully at his residence. Everybody knew William Bluedorn as “Red” Bluedorn.

William was born December 20, 1928 in New Castle. He is the son of the late William and Hannah Phillips Bluedorn. William is married to the Genevieve Estella Peterson Bluedorn, Who he loved and adored. They have been married for 62 loving years.  Red Bluedorn  attended Shenango High School until he enlisted in the Army. Among his many accomplishments Red was also an Eagle Scout

William enlisted in the United States Army on July 10, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA. William was a member of the 98th Service Battalion, 21st Infantry Division. He earned the rank of Tec 5, and marksman with the M1 Rifle. William received many decorations and citations, among those the World War II Victory Medal, and Army of Occupation Medal/Japan. William was Honorably Discharged on November 18, 1947 at the Army Separation Center in Stoneman, Cali. William retired after 43 years of service with Pennsylvania Power Company as a Lineman. William loved his job along with the men he worked with. William was a very accomplished woodworker making furniture for his beloved wife Genevieve, and his family and friends. William shared his talents with others and made all the furniture in his home. He enjoyed fishing, traveling to Florida and spending time with his grandsons. He loved going to Penn Power breakfasts to see some of his friends from work.

In addition to his loving wife Genevieve, William is survived by daughter Holly Anne Bluedorn Inman,  son-in law Bruce Inman, their two sons ,Joshua Phillips Inman, his wife Chrystal Inman and Williams great granddaughter Kylee Rose Inman; grandson Stephen Andrew Inman, His great granddaughter Avary Aterna Inman . Joshua and Stephen adored their grandfather and loved him very much. He is also survived by his son Hal Arnold Bluedorn and his wife Danae and their two daughters Katherine and Sarah who he loved.

Following in his wishes, there is no calling.  A Honor guard burial Service proceeded in in Oak Park Cemetery. The family is asking that any  memorial contributions be made in his name to  Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Rd, Renfrew, PA 16053, Online condolences may be viewed or offered by visiting www.nogafuneralhome.com. A memorial dinner is scheduled for August 1,2020 at Browns Country Kitchen, Portersville, Pa. 1-5pm. Please RSVP by Saturday July21 on the NOGA website listed above to confirm attendance.
