Yvonne J. Stewart, 93, of High Hill Road, Pulaski passed away the afternoon of October 25, 2025 at Avalon Care Center.
Yvonne was born August 16, 1932 in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late George and Virginia (Fisher) Fordney. She married the late John A. Stewart, Sr. They were married for 77 years. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2025.
Mrs. Stewart will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and aunt to her family. Yvonne enjoyed swimming and working as a lifeguard at Spring Water Acres. She enjoyed raising flowers, going boating and water skiing. She also enjoyed working in the horse barn with her husband’s Thoroughbred racehorses.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by two children, Patricia A. Hixenbaugh of West Pittsburg, PA, and Robert H. Stewart of Navasota, TX; three sisters-in-laws, Emma Lou Noga of New Wilmington; Marlene Stewart of Neshannock Twp., and Kay Stewart of Sharon, PA; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, John A. Stewart, Sr.; brother, Theodore G. Fordney; two sisters, Patricia C. Gibson, Madeleine J. Fordney; son, John A. Stewart, Jr.; four brothers-in-laws and sister-in-law, J. Russell Noga, Harry E. (Dolly) Stewart, Karl Stewart, James L. Stewart; son-in-law, Joe Hixenbaugh; and granddaughter, Angela Stewart.
Following her wishes, private services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 for her immediate family at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will be in Neshannock Presbyterian Cemetery. Local arrangements were entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 Mill Street, New Castle.
