Zella McAnallen Obituary

On Saturday, January 9, 2021, Zella A. McAnallen, 93 of New Castle passed away peacefully at home, after a brief illness.

Zella was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on May 10, 1927, a daughter of the late Francis and Julia (Eppinger) Lewis. Zella and her late husband Earl made their home in New Castle Pennsylvania.

She shared her faith, her love, and her joys with her family. Many of Zella’s family have fond memories of camping, baking, canning, making crafts, and participating in church activities with her. An active member of the Washington Union Alliance Church for over seventy years, she will be greatly missed by her church family. Zella was known to always have a pot of coffee and a listening ear ready for anyone who might stop to visit.

Zella was preceded in death by her dear husband of 44 years, Earl Eugene McAnallen in 1993, her oldest son Jimmie in 2012, and all eight of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by three-children, David, Susan Blake, and Terry (Mary). She was a devoted grandmother to 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Due to Covid, there will be no visitation hours. A funeral service was held yesterday. Pastor Landon Stuart of Washington Union Alliance Church officiated. Burial will be in Castleview Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to Washington Union Alliance Church, 2119 West Washington Street, New Castle, PA. 16101
